Efflorescence Treatment
Efflorescence is a very common & frequent problem in domestic & industrial structure. This unwanted problem not only damages the aesthetics of the building but also causing health hazards of the occupants. Because of unavailability of sound & direct solution to this problem till date, the house owner / industrial customer has had to incur substantial amount of money to prevent the flaking of paints & to stop the growth of fungus in & outside of the building.
Efflorescence, the problem, is nothing but the migration of soluble salt to the surface of a porous material like concrete or mortar. When water seeps through concrete, brick, or stone, it can leave behind salt deposits. When the water evaporates, what remains is a white crystalline substance that often resembles mold.
Following three circumstances are primarily responsible for causing problem of efflorescence :
- Soluble salts must be present in the concrete & the masonry.
- Moisture must be present to carry that soluble salts to the surface of concrete & masonry. Water may be present in concrete, could be on the surface or in air.
- Hydrostatic pressure or evaporation must cause the solution of salt & water to move to the surface.
Nanofix introducing first of its kind solution EFFLOCURE to stop the problem from your building & increasing the life expectancy of paint to save your hard earned money.
Nanofix Efflocure is a two part Liquid Nano Composite effective solution to Stop the Efflorescence.
Areas of Application: Brick Surface (Masonry Walls), Concrete & Plastered Surface.
Features & Benefits :
- Efflocure offers the Unique Solution through reaction between two Nano Composites .
- Formation of Nano Polymer particles on Plaster/ Brick Surfaces which plugs the pores & thus does not allow moisture penetration inside the structure .
- Easy to Apply. Second coat is applied after complete drying of first coat .
- Replastering / Repainting is recommended within 24 hrs of drying of Second Coat .
- Primer can be applied directly on the coated surface before painting.
NANOFIX Methodology to cure Efflorescence
- Surface should be dry cleaned by removing Loose Salt Scales, Patches by Wire Brush
- Apply Nanofix Efflocure part A by brush on the prepared surface
- After drying of First Coat, apply Part B by Brush
- Treated surface to be dried before Over Coating or plastering.
Note :
- If the plaster, affected by efflorescence, is found unsound then it is required to remove the plaster to expose the brick masonry surface, to apply Nanofix Efflocure in two coats. Plaster can be done after 24 hours of application of Nanofix Efflocure.
- Nanofix Efflocure can be applied directly on the plastered surface, if found sound.
- For concrete surface, damaged portion can be repaired with sand cement mortar using Nanofix 0102 ( 200 gm per kg of cement ) before application of Nanofix Efflocure.
