Toilet Waterproofing
Toilets are the vital leakage sensitive part in building. Leakage from toilet causes unhygienic atmosphere and inconvenience to home owners. In many toilets above ground level, sunken slabs are constructed for easy draining out of sewerage. Sewer pipes are laid on sunken slabs and drawn out either through R.C.C. slab or wall. Pipes are exposed in ducts or building outside.
Sunken slab is filled up by brick bats or debris. The filled up drop slab is covered by screed concrete. If water infiltrates through the top screed or through the annular gap of vertical outlets, fillers are slowly saturated and creates unhygienic environment due to seepage, leakage appears at bottom of drop slab. Sometime the leakage starts through the junction between sewerage pipe and drop slab due to improper sealing of annular gap between out let pipe and top surface of drop slab.
At Nanofix, we recommend system solutions for execution of waterproofing before roof gardening.
NANOFIX RECOMMENDS FOLLOWING PRODUCTS FOR YOUR TOILET & SUNKEN SLAB

Annular gaps of storm water outlets and other cracks can be sealed. Joint between mother slab and parapet is sealed by Bituseal to prevent the seepage through joint, so that paint blistering and patches outside parapet do not appear.
NANOFIX Methodology for Toilet & Sunken Slab Waterproofing
Step-1:- Surface preparation
- Surface should be dry cleaned by removing loose scales, dirt, dust, grease, oil etc. by wire brush.
- Any visible cracks to be repaired with
- Sealing of junctions by Nanofix Plastoseal or Bituseal – Sealing junctions between pipes and wall and between pipes and slab. Joints and annular gaps between pipes and walls or slabs should be cleaned properly and filled up with cement-sand mortar. After curing and drying of mortar, Nanofix Plastoseal or Bituseal is applied by a spatula along the joints flashing at both the ends.
Nanofix Plastoseal :
This is crack sealing compound. If any crack is observed on the mother slab, Plastoseal is applied to seal all the cracks. This is also used to seal junction between mother slab – vertical wall, annular gaps between pipes – mother slab, pipes – vertical wall and vertical drainage pipes- screed concrete on sunken slab top.
OR Nanofix Bituseal :
This is also a crack sealing compound. If any crack is observed on the mother slab, Bituseal is applied to seal all the cracks. This is also used to seal junction between mother slab – vertical wall, annular gaps between pipes – mother slab, pipes – vertical wall and vertical drainage pipes- screed concrete on sunken slab top.
Step-2:- Application of Nanofix Protective coating over the prepared portion of sunken slab
Nanofix Bituflex :
Application Process :
- Mix Part A with Part B homogeneously and then add Water slowly to make Brush Applicable Coating (Mixing Ratio – Part A : Part B: Water = 1:1:1)
- Apply First Coat by Brush
- After drying of First Coat for 6 to 8hrs (Depending upon Weather Condition) apply Second Coat by brush uniformly
- Application of Nanofix Flexeet must be extended over the parapet wall upto 300 m.m height above the junction of parapet & RCC slab.
- Sprinkle Sand on applied surface before lying cement sand mortar of 1: 4 ratio at an average 50 m.m. thickness after second coat drying of 8hrs.
Nanofix 0102 :
Application Process :
- Surface should be dry cleaned by removing Loose Scales, Dirt, Dust, Grease, Oil etc. by Wire Brush
- Any visible cracks to be repaired with Nanofix Plastoseal
- Prepare waterproof coating by mixing Nanofix 0102 with water & cement in 1:2:2 ratio and apply the first coat by brush
- After drying of first coat for 6 to 8 hrs (depending upon weather condition) apply second coat in same recommended ratio by brush uniformly
- Sprinkle sand only in case of application on brick & concrete surface. Screed or plastering should be done after drying of 8 hrs.
